We are sorry to report that Otway Bailey, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022 at the age of 88.
Otway was born in Grenada on October 10, 1933. He was the youngest of six children and grew up in a close-knit family. After completing his schooling, he worked for a time as a clerk in a local store before moving to England in 1955 to start a new life.
Otway met his wife Sheila while living in London and they were married in 1960. The couple had three children together ufffd David, Paul, and Sarah. In 1967, they made the decision to move back to Grenada and take over the family business.
Otway was a successful businessman and was highly respected by his community. He was also very active in politics and served as a member of parliament for several years.
In retirement, Otway enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and travelling back to England to visit family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but we take comfort knowing that he is now at peace.
