President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden is the current President of the United States of America. The 46th president of the United States, he was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on November 20, 1942. He has served as a U.S. Senator from run for office.

Former Vice President Joe Biden was officially sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, immediately reversing several of his predecessor’s controversial policies and vowing to unify a nation sharply divided after four years of President Donald Trump’s polarizing leadership.

“It’s a new day in America,” Biden said in his first speech as president.

“I will be a president for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not,” Biden pledged. “I ask you to judge me by the enemies I’ve made.”

Within hours of taking the oath of office, Biden signed a slew of executive orders aimed at undoing some of Trump’s most controversial policies, including reentering the U.S. into the Paris climate accord, pausing construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and mandating that people wear masks on federal property to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Executive Orders

President Joe Biden has begun his term by issuing a series of Executive Orders to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing America.

His first Executive Order was aimed at increasing the production of personal protective equipment, or PPE, in order to combat the spread of coronavirus. The Order also includes measures to bolster the supply of vaccines and testing materials.

Other Executive Orders issued by President Biden include one that will raise the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 per hour, and another that will reinstate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The Orders come as the new President looks to set a different tone from his predecessor, Donald Trump. In his first days in office, Biden has emphasized a return to bipartisanship and cooperation.

American Rescue Plan

The American Rescue Plan is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill proposed by President Joe Biden in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. The legislation was introduced on January 28, 2021, and is currently being considered by the United States Congress. If enacted, it would provide approximately $1,400 direct stimulus payments to most American adults, as well as extend enhanced unemployment benefits through September 2021. The bill also includes provisions aimed at increasing vaccine distribution, supporting state and local governments, and increasing funding for K-12 education and childcare.

Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris has been sworn in as the Vice President of the United States of America. She is the first woman to hold this office and the first person of color to be elected as Vice President.

The inauguration of Kamala Harris as the 44th President of the United States took place on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. The inauguration marked the formal culmination of Harris’s victory in the 2020 presidential election and her swearing-in as president. Harris, a Democrat and former United States senator from California, is both the first woman and the first person of color to serve as president.

Executive Orders

During his first days in office, President Biden revoked or reversed several of Trump’s executive orders, including those related to the travel ban, the Keystone XL pipeline and the Mexico City Policy (which restricted funding for groups that provide or promote abortions). He also put a moratorium on new drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

American Rescue Plan

A $1.9 trillion relief package, also known as the American Rescue Plan, has been signed into law by President Biden. The package includes $1,400 stimulus checks, unemployment benefits, and funding for vaccinations and schools

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the United States of America. It has the power to interpret the Constitution and to strike down laws that it finds to be in conflict with the Constitution. The Supreme Court is made up of nine justices, who are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

The inauguration of the president of the United States is a solemn occasion marking the commencement of a new four-year term of the president of the United States. This ceremony is marked by a public oath taken by the president, as well as various inaugural speeches given by the new president and their vice president. The most recent inauguration took place on January 20, 2017, when Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States.

Executive Orders

The President of the United States has traditionally issued executive orders to help direct the work of the federal government.

These orders are usually in response to directives from Congress or as a way to delegate authority to executive branch agencies. In some cases, presidential executive orders are issued as a way to circumvent Congress when the president feels that legislative action is needed but Congress is unable or unwilling to act.

Presidential executive orders have the force of law, and they are binding on all federal agencies. However, these orders can be challenged in court, and they often face legal and constitutional questions.

American Rescue Plan

American Rescue Plan is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package proposed by U.S. President Joe Biden during his presidential campaign to address the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. The legislation was unveiled on January 14, 2021, and is currently being considered by the United States Congress.

The American Rescue Plan includes direct payments to eligible Americans of $1,400, as well as enhanced unemployment benefits, funding for vaccine distribution and testing, aid to states and local governments, and an expansion of the child tax credit and earned income tax credit. The plan also includes funding for infrastructure projects and school reopenings.

If enacted, the American Rescue Plan would be the largest economic stimulus package in history.
