Politics– The United States Senate has begun debate on a $1.9 trillion economic relief bill that aims to provide more direct payments to American households, deliver aid to small businesses, and extend unemployment benefits amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Healthcare– A new study published in the journal Science has found that Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine is “highly effective” in preventing Covid-19 infections. The study, which is based on data from Israel’s mass vaccination campaign, found that the vaccine was 91.3% effective in preventing symptomatic Covid-19 infections and 94.1% effective in preventing asymptomatic infections.
Economy–The U.S. Treasury Department has announced that it will begin selling $20 billion of 10-year bonds at a sale on Wednesday, February 10th. The bonds will mature on February 15th, 2030.
Technology– Amazon has announced that it will be opening a new “fulfillment center” in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The center will reportedly create 1,000 new jobs in the area.

“‘The SEC is investigating Herbalife’s business practices,’ said John Ingle, an Herbalife spokesman. He said the company intends ‘to fully cooperate with the SEC’s request for information.’
Shares of the nutrition and supplements seller were down about 9% in extended trading Tuesday after closing at $68.96 in the regular session.”
The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Herbalife Ltd., a company that has been a subject of controversy for years.
The investigation was disclosed in a filing Tuesday with the SEC. The company said it intends to cooperate with the agency.
Herbalife has been accused by some people of being a pyramid scheme, though it has denied those claims. The company sells products through a network of independent distributors, and critics have said that most people who join make little or no money.”
